First published in 1961, Richard
Yates's "The Revolutionary Road" is a true masterpiece. The
american dream that never was. The mundane, the lost
opportunities of our lives, what we are in contrast to what we imagine we are, oh so wrong. And deep inside, in the heart of the book lies the loneliness of the lives we find ourselves living. Beware! Hollywood has decided to make a Titanic film (DiCaprio/Winslet) out of this book coming to movie theaters near you in 2008. I can be mistaken...but then again I think I just saw a huge iceberg...
